This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled net: broadcom: bcm4908_enet: update TX stats after actual transmission to the 6.0-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: net-broadcom-bcm4908_enet-update-tx-stats-after-actu.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.0 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit fc571d09e2bcb2e0221d5a10bc39956799de0efc Author: Rafał Miłecki <rafal@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Thu Oct 27 13:24:30 2022 +0200 net: broadcom: bcm4908_enet: update TX stats after actual transmission [ Upstream commit ef3556ee16c68735ec69bd08df41d1cd83b14ad3 ] Queueing packets doesn't guarantee their transmission. Update TX stats after hardware confirms consuming submitted data. This also fixes a possible race and NULL dereference. bcm4908_enet_start_xmit() could try to access skb after freeing it in the bcm4908_enet_poll_tx().
