This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled arm64: map FDT as RW for early_init_dt_scan() to the 4.19-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: arm64-map-fdt-as-rw-for-early_init_dt_scan.patch and it can be found in the queue-4.19 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. >From e112b032a72c78f15d0c803c5dc6be444c2e6c66 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Hsin-Yi Wang <hsinyi@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Fri, 23 Aug 2019 14:24:50 +0800 Subject: arm64: map FDT as RW for early_init_dt_scan() From: Hsin-Yi Wang <hsinyi@xxxxxxxxxxxx> commit e112b032a72c78f15d0c803c5dc6be444c2e6c66 upstream. Currently in arm64, FDT is mapped to RO before it's passed to early_init_dt_scan(). However, there might be some codes (eg. commit "fdt: add support for rng-seed") that need to modify FDT during init. Map FDT to RO after early fixups are done.
