This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled

iio: core: Fix IIO_ALIGN and rename as it was not sufficiently large

to the 5.18-stable tree which can be found at:
    http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary

The filename of the patch is:
     iio-core-fix-iio_align-and-rename-as-it-was-not-suff.patch
and it can be found in the queue-5.18 subdirectory.

If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree,
please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it.

Hi Shasha,

I didn't flag this lot for stable, partly because I was considering
letting them sit in mainline for a little while to shake out any
unexpected problems. I can't think of a reason they would cause trouble
beyond it's a lot of subtle changes to alignment of data in drivers and
maybe we'll throw up a latent bug or two - most likely because
of the reduced alignment requirements on some architectures.

We've had no bug reports yet and they've been in next a while so I'm
moderately happy with these going into stable. Note these are fixes
for a somewhat theoretical problem where only known problem platforms
may not intersect with the buggy IIO drivers.

So in conclusion, I'm a little nervous, but these should be fine to
go into stable. I was probably being overly cautious in not marking them
for stable in the first place.

Worst case we'll revert them back out. It's going through all the
testing infra we have, so if we see something fishy we'll pull it out
sooner.
