This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled net: ftgmac100: access hardware register after clock ready to the 5.17-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: net-ftgmac100-access-hardware-register-after-clock-r.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.17 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 8b0d39de6117e9e18975cda5b3b6019f39e32dd6 Author: Dylan Hung <dylan_hung@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Tue Apr 12 19:48:59 2022 +0800 net: ftgmac100: access hardware register after clock ready [ Upstream commit 3d2504524531990b32a0629cc984db44f399d161 ] AST2600 MAC register 0x58 is writable only when the MAC clock is enabled. Usually, the MAC clock is enabled by the bootloader so register 0x58 is set normally when the bootloader is involved. To make ast2600 ftgmac100 work without the bootloader, postpone the register write until the clock is ready.
