This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled i2c: bcm2835: Avoid clock stretching timeouts to the 5.15-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: i2c-bcm2835-avoid-clock-stretching-timeouts.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.15 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit ca70eba3de002b62e9f7a316f3cef157c63c1708 Author: Eric Anholt <eric@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Fri Feb 23 22:42:31 2018 +0100 i2c: bcm2835: Avoid clock stretching timeouts [ Upstream commit 9495b9b31abe525ebd93da58de2c88b9f66d3a0e ] The CLKT register contains at poweron 0x40, which at our typical 100kHz bus rate means .64ms. But there is no specified limit to how long devices should be able to stretch the clocks, so just disable the timeout. We still have a timeout wrapping the entire transfer.
