This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled net: macb: Align the dma and coherent dma masks to the 5.15-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: net-macb-align-the-dma-and-coherent-dma-masks.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.15 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 59867b04c33a8a42d5e92ce048bf81c236473648 Author: Marc St-Amand <mstamand@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed Feb 9 15:13:25 2022 +0530 net: macb: Align the dma and coherent dma masks [ Upstream commit 37f7860602b5b2d99fc7465f6407f403f5941988 ] Single page and coherent memory blocks can use different DMA masks when the macb accesses physical memory directly. The kernel is clever enough to allocate pages that fit into the requested address width. When using the ARM SMMU, the DMA mask must be the same for single pages and big coherent memory blocks. Otherwise the translation tables turn into one big mess.
