This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled ARM: socfpga: Fix crash with CONFIG_FORTIRY_SOURCE to the 4.19-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: arm-socfpga-fix-crash-with-config_fortiry_source.patch and it can be found in the queue-4.19 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 190d9a52c33a3034f5ce310d711df24f500ef65f Author: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@xxxxxxx> Date: Thu Nov 18 15:25:08 2021 +0100 ARM: socfpga: Fix crash with CONFIG_FORTIRY_SOURCE [ Upstream commit 187bea472600dcc8d2eb714335053264dd437172 ] When CONFIG_FORTIFY_SOURCE is set, memcpy() checks the potential buffer overflow and panics. The code in sofcpga bootstrapping contains the memcpy() calls are mistakenly translated as the shorter size, hence it triggers a panic as if it were overflowing. This patch changes the secondary_trampoline and *_end definitions to arrays for avoiding the false-positive crash above.
