This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled ubifs: Fix races between xattr_{set|get} and listxattr operations to the 5.12-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: ubifs-fix-races-between-xattr_-set-get-and-listxattr-operations.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.12 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. >From f4e3634a3b642225a530c292fdb1e8a4007507f5 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Zhihao Cheng <chengzhihao1@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon, 31 May 2021 20:52:09 +0800 Subject: ubifs: Fix races between xattr_{set|get} and listxattr operations From: Zhihao Cheng <chengzhihao1@xxxxxxxxxx> commit f4e3634a3b642225a530c292fdb1e8a4007507f5 upstream. UBIFS may occur some problems with concurrent xattr_{set|get} and listxattr operations, such as assertion failure, memory corruption, stale xattr value[1]. Fix it by importing a new rw-lock in @ubifs_inode to serilize write operations on xattr, concurrent read operations are still effective, just like ext4.
