This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled net/mlx5: Don't request more than supported EQs to the 5.4-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: net-mlx5-don-t-request-more-than-supported-eqs.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.4 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit c115f7b785f335edb255007228d82ca889e6cc2c Author: Daniel Jurgens <danielj@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Thu Dec 5 16:58:10 2019 -0600 net/mlx5: Don't request more than supported EQs [ Upstream commit a7b76002ae78cd230ee652ccdfedf21aa94fcecc ] Calculating the number of compeltion EQs based on the number of available IRQ vectors doesn't work now that all async EQs share one IRQ. Thus the max number of EQs can be exceeded on systems with more than approximately 256 CPUs. Take this into account when calculating the number of available completion EQs.
