This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled nios2: fixed broken sys_clone syscall to the 5.11-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: nios2-fixed-broken-sys_clone-syscall.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.11 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 8cb3b5c951fbd6cda9f7c7ee58877ae977687629 Author: Andreas Oetken <andreas.oetken@xxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Fri Feb 19 14:41:03 2021 +0800 nios2: fixed broken sys_clone syscall [ Upstream commit 9abcfcb20320e8f693e89d86573b58e6289931cb ] The tls pointer must be pushed on the stack prior to calling nios2_clone as it is the 5th function argument. Prior handling of the tls pointer was done inside former called function copy_thread_tls using the r8 register from the current_pt_regs directly. This was a bad design and resulted in the current bug introduced in 04bd52fb.
