This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled selftests/ftrace: Change synthetic event name for inter-event-combined test to the 5.9-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: selftests-ftrace-change-synthetic-event-name-for-int.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.9 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 26db25c79c24d025eb6086f30c358fd45c5df3af Author: Tom Zanussi <zanussi@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Tue Oct 13 09:17:56 2020 -0500 selftests/ftrace: Change synthetic event name for inter-event-combined test [ Upstream commit 96378b2088faea68f1fb05ea6b9a566fc569a44c ] This test uses waking+wakeup_latency as an event name, which doesn't make sense since it includes an operator. Illegal names are now detected by the synthetic event command parsing, which causes this test to fail. Change the name to 'waking_plus_wakeup_latency' to prevent this.
