This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled media: uvcvideo: Set media controller entity functions to the 5.9-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: media-uvcvideo-set-media-controller-entity-functions.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.9 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 525dabed72ca94a14aa91eddbeefbe1e610c365b Author: Laurent Pinchart <laurent.pinchart@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Sun Jun 7 04:05:49 2020 +0200 media: uvcvideo: Set media controller entity functions [ Upstream commit d6834b4b58d110814aaf3469e7fd87d34ae5ae81 ] The media controller core prints a warning when an entity is registered without a function being set. This affects the uvcvideo driver, as the warning was added without first addressing the issue in existing drivers. The problem is harmless, but unnecessarily worries users. Fix it by mapping UVC entity types to MC entity functions as accurately as possible using the existing functions.
