This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled ibmvnic: Harden device login requests to the 4.19-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: ibmvnic-harden-device-login-requests.patch and it can be found in the queue-4.19 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit fba84f6749206e99da798a1d00c9d9584102378f Author: Thomas Falcon <tlfalcon@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon Jun 15 10:29:23 2020 -0500 ibmvnic: Harden device login requests [ Upstream commit dff515a3e71dc8ab3b9dcc2e23a9b5fca88b3c18 ] The VNIC driver's "login" command sequence is the final step in the driver's initialization process with device firmware, confirming the available device queue resources to be utilized by the driver. Under high system load, firmware may not respond to the request in a timely manner or may abort the request. In such cases, the driver should reattempt the login command sequence. In case of a device error, the number of retries is bounded. Signed-off-by: Thomas Falcon <tlfalcon@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Signed-off-by: David S.
