Jeff, I've seen it recently in one of our test servers. Sorry I can't help you much, the server with this problem had also some disks errors, and it was pretty old, so it was replaced with a new one, as it was just for testing proposes. What I can tell you is that both server and client where debian lenny, and the client is openssh 5.1p1 using openssl 0.9.8g. Hope it can help a little, if I remember some more information about server I'll post it right here. Cheers.
