Why not the latest stable version of SquirrelMail??

It's impossible to say without more information about what version you
upgraded from, but I suspect you need to reset your IMAP server
configuration settings.  Back up your configuration file, then run the
configuration tool, choose option D and select your IMAP server.  If
that doesn't work, you may need to tweak your folder/IMAP settings
further on your own.
