Hi there, the preference caching and file based identity system is an Achilles heel in SM. When a user is logged in on multiple locations that users settings and identities can be screwed up completely and this whilst being logged on at multiple locations isn't at all odd for a webmail system. The best way to go would be to store prefs and identities in mysql and if that is against the SM design philosophy, remember that disabling pref caching slows SM down to an absolute crawl and making SM work flawlessly with users logged in to the same account from multiple locations (like it is possible in Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo mail etc without the same issues) is almost impossible to fix with prefs/identities stored in the filesystem whilst keeping performance up. So, any constructive ideas?
