There are several spam filtering options for Squirrelmail. Your  
administrator just hasn't installed any of them that would be  
compatible with his e-mail system or has chosen not to do any spam  
filtering at all.

Also, any version of squirrelmail 1.2 or newer (i.e. since 12/24/2001)  
has had basic filtering capabilities built in but it must not be  
enabled by your administrator.

If you had a better administrator (even semi-competent), this wouldn't  
be a problem, hence the suggestion to find someone else.
