Dear All,
I have the following configuration on a single server perfectly working
for a long time
Centos 5
DNS server running bind
sendmail
apache
mailscanner + spamassasin+ clamav
mailwatch
squirrelmail
Now allmost all users use squirrel mail but some do use MS outlook
now if i send and recive any mail with attachments it is blocked which is
perfect.
now if i loginto mailwatch and try to release it the following happens
(( btw i have done the necesary changes as mentioned in mailwatch FAQ --
why mail gets quarantined again when it is released ))
if the mail was send with Outlook expreess client its realeased perfectly
if the mail was sent with squirrel mail when i try to rerlease it it gets
quarinted again since SQ mails talkin to localhost n the IP is 127.0.0.1
which is no in rules file
so how could i make SQ mail talk to the server pulic IP or is there any
other way
Right now i do it in manual way
i log into the above server and in rules directory the file
content.scanning.rules i change the below rule from --- yes to no
From: 127.0.0.1 yes
restart mailscanner and after loggin in mailwatch i release them and gets
released perfectly and the change it back to yes and restart mailscanner
cause if i always keep the rule to no which is default than users sending
mails with attachment using squireelmail wont be blocked and obviously i
dont want users to send mails with attachment .
only i as a admin must be able to release them after loggin into mailwatch
so cd i make SQmail talk to my other IP instead of 127.0.0.1 n apprecite how
Thanks and regards
simon
