Have you tried installing rpm from later fedora core version?

SquirrelMail rpm depends on
---
* /bin/sh
* /usr/bin/env
* /usr/sbin/sendmail
* aspell >= 12:0.60
* httpd
* perl >= 0:5.001
* php
* php-mbstring
* tmpwatch
---

Only aspell version requirement can stop you and you can ignore that
dependency, if you don't use squirrelspell plugin.

You can also upgrade whole box.

It is not recommended to upgrade from Fedora's SquirrelMail package to
standard SquirrelMail package, if you have international environment. Your
user data can be corrupted.
