I'm running Squirrelmail 1.4.8 on Fedora Core 5, with Dovecot IMAP server. All the packages above come from Fedora distribution. Recently, I made major re-organisation of my several IMAP (and older POP) folders, this means moving a lot of messages from a folder into another. So, the messages are now in the folders in random order, not in regular older-has-been-there-first order. Now, it very much looks to me that Squirrelmail's "sort by date"- display option does not do what is expected, but it would sort messages by some message-id from IMAP server, that reflects the order in which the messages were appended into the folder. For example, a few last messages, when asked to sort the newest on top, appear now in this order (dates only copied, European date format dd.mm.yyyy): 28.2.2007 28.2.2007 13.1.2007 28.2.2007 ... ... 27.2.2007 1.1.2007 2.1.2007 This is exactly the same order, that I get with Thunderbird mail client if I ask to sort by message arrival order, which is definetely a different thing from sorting by date, since IMAP folders allow flexible moving of messages from a folder into another. Any ideas, how to get a real sorted-by-date display? Regards, Timo ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Earn Cash.
