SquirrelMail 1.4.1 was released n years ago. Please make sure that you have same issue in SquirrelMail 1.4.8. If you use Fedora's SquirrelMail packages with courier, make sure that you don't have configuration overrides in /etc/squirrelmail/config_local.php and imap server type is set to courier.
