Something like Cyrus IMAP (which supports the SIEVE filtering language). Then you can use the Sieve Filters plugin, which gives you a user-controllerd filters pluging, server-side filtering, vacation controls, and more. Plus, all users are virtual users by design, which means all the filtering, vacation, etc all work with virtual users. And, if you ever need to expand beyond 1 server, Cyrus support the MURDER protocol to spread your single IMAP namespace across multiple servers (something none of the other IMAP servers I've tried can do). :) Cyrus also scales into the tens-of-thousands of messages per folder a lot better than Courier does (I could kill a dual-Opteron server with 4 GB of RAM by opening a folder with 15,000 messages in it when running Courier, but Cyrus barely registers the load). (Haven't tested Dovecot to compare.) Granted, configuring Cyrus the first time is not for the faint of heart, and reading the documentation several times is an absolute must. But, the end result is definitely worth it. As for procmail, you can configure a global procmailrc file with recipes for each user account in it. Not the greatest method to use (maildrop and Sieve work better for this) but it is possible. ---- Freddie Cash, LPCI-1 CCNT CCLP Helpdesk / Network Support Tech.
