Some IMAP servers disable the use of plaintext logins to help prevent the usernames and passwords from being intercepted over the network. As you didn't give any details about your setup, I can't give you directions on how to fix it. Given this info, you should be able to do the research though. > I am using debian and can you please tell me how I can fix this problem. > Also how do you add users or does it read the information from the > /etc/password? SquirrelMail is an IMAP client, and thus has no concept of user security. It just passes the username and password that the user supplies at the login page to the IMAP server. Figure out how to add users to whatever IMAP server you use and you'll be set. - -- Chris Hilts tassium@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Say it with flowers -- Send them a triffid! -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.3 (MingW32) iD8DBQFEjKgS98ixrK2vMtARArzYAJ9s5bfKTwxJu5Lq5e8r+RN8T2mm/gCgkqWn wKG9GHW5RSn2CmNuSLVYZcg= =bSWy -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- squirrelmail-users mailing list Posting Guidelines: http://www.squirrelmail.org/wiki/MailingListPostingGuidelines List Address: squirrelmail-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx List Archives: http://news.gmane.org/thread.php?group=gmane.mail.squirrelmail.user List Archives: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_id=2995 List Info: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/squirrelmail-users
