Let sum things up:
Squid-Cache works all over the world and you are having a trouble in a specific environment.
The main thing to do now is find the difference between others and you in the setup level.
First you referenced to a danted sock5 proxy.
So the issue is that your setup is more complex then a simple forward proxy.
I do not remember how socks5 works and also do not remember anything about a danted sock5 proxy.
I will try to learn more about such setups later and will try to response later on.
according to the OP
"it works fine without squid proxy and with ssh-tunnel proxy from my
localhost, but with danted proxy I have the same problem - no images and no
videos"
http://lists.squid-cache.org/pipermail/squid-users/2022-June/024836.html
I assume it only works properly when using SOCKS proxy over SSH tunnelling.
since it does not work with local proxy, either danted or squid, tunnelling
is required for instagram to work.
I have no idea how the blocking is done, via blocking or intercepting DNS
- DNS over TLS ot DNS over HTTPS would help there
or simply blocking or redirecting destination servers
(access log could help).
However, I'm afraid that the tunnelling at least of connections to
domains instagram uses is required for make it work.
