Thanks for the quick input and the hint.
We don't use CentOS at work but I am using it on my workstation so that was a nice hint.
The more I read abut ufdbGuard the more I am angry on myself for struggling with the squidguard extension for so long. Should have done it from scratch in the first place with my own research instead of "blindly" recycling the old squid proxy.

The EPEL package of ufdbGuard is broken, so if you use ufdbGuard on CentOS/RHEL you need to download the package form sourceforge or www.urlfilterdb.com and exclude it from the EPEL repository.

Heya list,

since I get no helpful responses from other sources, I try it here.

I have a squid proxy set up and running. It works but when it comes to squidguard well, let's say I am done with it. It's not maintained anymore, I need hacks to get the results I'd like to get and it's more work than good.

So I went on the web to look up some replacement for squidguard.

urlfilterdb is getting mentioned a lot as a replacement for squidguard anyone got some good experiences with it?

Have a nice week
