It either happens or it does not. For wordpress sites you can of course write your own plugins or code to send HTTP caching headers and respond to. It is far easier and often better to use something already existing though, if you can find a plugin that works well. Use the redbot.org tool to test your site behaviour with any options you choose. Right now it is reporting that your site is already caching but not producing correct Vary headers.
