IMHO, Squid documentation should be rewritten to use > "transaction ID" instead. Pull requests and wiki updates are welcomed. That won't help if it is external documentation. Which is why I asked. All but one place we have simply calls it "channel-ID", that one says "channel number" but no text about how it behaves.
