So the ICAP server still has to do all the parsing parts for both ICAP and HTTP, then the payload as well. If you just want data passed to your code, go with eCAP module. Squid loads it as a library and passes pre-parsed HTTP data through the eCAP API to it. Then the only parsing necessary is the payload format(s).
