However there are a few reasons why Squid may be unable to see a file there: Is Squid running within a chroot? that including if squid.conf contains the "chroot_dir" config directive. The path must exist inside the chroot area. Are there SELinux or Apparmor running on this machine? Several OS distros enable those system protectinos by default, and with settings that forbid Squid to access anywhere outside its own directories.
