Well, the targeted Win7 version (0x601) is supposed to supply a native getaddrinfo() and IIRC the MinGW headers included a definition. So I expect (more of a hope really) that the MinGW supplied version should be detected and used with the right autoconf test. If you are able to figure this one out it would be a great help. I'm not able to spare any time to Windows for a few weeks at least.
