This is an old patch that I used to help diagnose problems in the SSL
certificate database. I have no idea if it will still apply to the
sources, but maybe you can manually apply it and see if it helps
track down the problem…

It seems to be for me that the size file is empty, even when it seems
to be running fine.

Didn't see it because it has no LF char, but the file does contain a
value. Will check when it breaks.
