getting the full list of objects in the cache _dir

i'm looking for the best way to get the full list of current cached 
objects in cache_dir cache.
i can use the "purge" software to lookup objects and purge them but i 
would like better to know somehow the specific list of objects in cache 
live.
i can use the purge tool to extract all the data at once and to parse it 
into a memory db or analyze it on the fly.

maybe some external log daemon for the cache_store logs can do the trick?
