Yes, this would be the easy way. However, what if I ever would decide to make the squid non-transparent? Then all clients needed to know that the gateway server has to be excepted from beeing proxied. OK, possible, althought not really elegant.

Anyway, thanks for all the help. With this, I'll be able to build up a working solution.
