Hi Amos,

After I set the "memory_cache_shared off" in the config file of the squid
, after I disable the memory_cache_shared , squid not crash, but we need
shared memory caching, any fix for this problem.
Okay, did you find any other details about it? if you did please check
bugzilla to see if there is any known bugs mentioning those details.

I believe it is this bug: http://bugs.squid-cache.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3449

or some of the related bugs mentioned there.

Setting "cache_mem 0" fixes it as per Alex's suggestion.

Which new beta feature are we talking about? 3.2.0.13 did not have this issue. Is "memory_cache_shared" a new feature?

Yes. One of a few required for workers SMP caching.

Since "cache_mem 0" fixed this, i did not pursue it further. But as OP mentioned above, he needs this shared memory feature.

I honestly think development should be focused on fixing existing issues at this stage instead of introducing additional ones at every release. Of course you might disagree as developers, however, this is quite frustrating for us as users.

We are. The bunch of SMP caching features in 3.2.0.13 was the last feature additions for 3.2. Now we have only to fix the bugs.

Amos
