Hello,

I have installed squid 3.1.4 with yum and I have a common configuration:

acl manager proto cache_object
acl localhost src 127.0.0.1/32
acl localhost src ::1/128
acl to_localhost dst 127.0.0.0/8 0.0.0.0/32
acl to_localhost dst ::1/128
acl localnet src 10.0.0.0/8 # RFC1918 possible internal network
acl localnet src 172.16.0.0/12 # RFC1918 possible internal network
acl localnet src 192.168.0.0/16	# RFC1918 possible internal network
acl localnet src fc00::/7 # RFC 4193 local private network range
acl localnet src fe80::/10 # RFC 4291 link-local (directly plugged)
machines

acl SSL_ports port 443

acl Safe_ports port 21 # ftp
acl Safe_ports port 443 # https
acl Safe_ports port 70 # gopher
acl Safe_ports port 210 # wais

acl Safe_ports port 280 # http-mgmt
acl Safe_ports port 488 # gss-http
acl Safe_ports port 591 # filemaker
acl Safe_ports port 777 # multiling http
acl CONNECT method CONNECT

http_access allow manager localhost
http_access deny manager
http_access deny !Safe_ports
http_access deny CONNECT !SSL_ports
http_access allow localnet
http_access allow localhost
http_access deny all

cache_mem 768 MB
http_port 3128
hierarchy_stoplist cgi-bin ?
cache_dir aufs /cache1 28660 128 128
maximum_object_size 320010 KB
cache_swap_low 90
cache_swap_high 95
maximum_object_size_in_memory 100 KB
ipcache_size 2048
ipcache_low 90
ipcache_high 95
fqdncache_size 2048
cache_replacement_policy heap LFUDA
memory_replacement_policy LFUDA

The problem is tha the access logs are reporting only TCP_MISS/200,
TCP_MISS/304, TCP_MISS/204 and GET,DIRECT.

The cache size i rising but there is a slow performance yet, about 5-6
sec or more opening eBay (not loading the entire page), even after a
refresh.

Any advice?
Thanks
Artemis
