All...

I think I am having some symptoms from this issue described by others...

Is there a Bugzilla bug for this?

Several. "lost" credentials is a problem description similarly vague as "slow" speed. The current Squid releases can challenge for new credentials due to various bugs:
 * squid crashes or leaked credential objects (bug 2305)
* actually dropping/removing them from association with the request (bug 3145),
 * expired but okay being treated as missing (bug 2936),
* expired but okay being treated as invalid in fast ACL checks (bug 3255)
 * stale digest nonce being treated as (bug 3186)

I looked but could only find 3145, 2936. Is one one those relevant?

Any of the above bugs. Possibly something else I'm unaware of or forgotten. Which (if any) depends on your Squid release number.

Would you need some debug traces to confirm - my debug options are currently:

debug_options ALL,2 82,9 84,9 27,9 28,9 29,9 73,9 74,9

Is that high enough?

Should be. You can remove 27,9 though. And 73,9 74,9 can probably be replaced by 11,9 (or if you have squid-3.2.0.11 use 11,2)

I'm gathering contacts for people to assist with an audit of the auth functionality in 3.2 before it gets released. Are you able to assist with this testing?
