The Squid HTTP Proxy team is very pleased to announce the
availability of the Squid-3.2.0.10 beta release!

This release is a bug fix release resolving many of the regressions found in the prior releases. There are some few regressions still remaining to be found.

The Squid Cache Manager has been upgraded in this release to provide management reports with URL schemes http:// and https:// alongside the historic cache_object:// protocol.

The manager base URL is http://example.com/squid-internal-mgr/. At present it provides text-only reports, including the default menu. This will be changing in future releases.

SECURITY CHANGES:

It is important to notice the default "manager" ACL has been changed starting from this release. In order to protect the cache manager from external access it has become:
 acl manager url_regex -i ^cache_object://
 acl manager url_regex ^https?://[^/]+/squid-internal-mgr/

This ACL change is backward compatible for use with all Squid releases.

Manager passwords are no longer accepted in the new URL syntax. HTTP authentication is now required. http_access authentication tests should be performed to verify user authorization for particular management actions instead of the cachemgr_passwd directive.

As usual this release contains all the fixes passed on to 3.1 series alongside its own changes.

See the ChangeLog for the list of other minor changes in this release.

All users of 3.2.0.9 or daily updates of that package, even patches are urged to upgrade to this release immediately.

All users interested in 3.2 features are encouraged to assist testing this release.
