ok i did one change to the ownership of the squid/log files and fired:

tomo@hel-test:~$ sudo squid -z

tomo@hel-test:/var/log$ sudo squid -NCd1
2011/01/24 15:23:49| Starting Squid Cache version 2.6.STABLE18 for i386-debian-linux-gnu...
