squid need some (a lot, in fact) RAM to keep indexes od the objects stored on the cache. You can use RAM to create a tmpfs and use it for cache, of course you can. But you cant forget squid uses RAM for other things as well.
Getting 6 of 8 GBs to the tmpfs would, probably, leave very few RAM for squid (and all the rest of processes/OS stuff) and, eventually, squid (and the whole OS) would start swapping and then your performance would became VERY bad.
With the correct calculations on RAM usage by squid and other processes, as well with some monitoring, you can surely use some of the available RAM to create a tmpfs and have squid caching things there. But 6 out of 8 i think its simply too much.

Dear I have a server with 8Gb memory I would like to know there is any benefits to create a 6Gb cache in memory with a tmpfs partition ? best regards
