TPROXYv2 which is likely the only one available with RHEL 5.x old software requires kernel patching and is no longer supported by any of the authors. Unless you are required to go to those great lengths to do it you may as well upgrade to a newer kernel-2.6.32+ and use a Squid-3.1+ with TPROXYv4 support.
