Are you hosting squid on your home internet connection? Your upload bandwidth is probably limited (25k bytes upstream is common) and too low to forward the video traffic on to you.

Subject: optimize squid for video streaming

Hello,

I am out of my country and I am trying to use squid to watch TV from some tv channels that don't stream to other countries. My squid server shows good enough bandwidth to the channels' streaming and to myself in Canada, however when I try to see online tv the image and sound get stopped every few seconds. I suppose the main reason could be some buffer size configuration.

I have cache_mem = 8MB. Should I increase it? or do something else?

I would appreciate any insight on this.

Cheers,
HÃctor.
