According to this: http://www.squid-cache.org/Versions/v2/2.6/cfgman/header_access.html 2.6 uses "header_access" Hoping it was the same for 2.5x, I entered this into squid.conf header_access X-Forwarded-For deny all ...and it worked like a charm.
