The Squid HTTP Proxy team is very pleased to announce the
availability of the Squid-3.1.0.15 beta release!
The most noteworthy change of this release is the addition of seamless
support for the ICY protocol, otherwise known as the popular ICEcast or
SHOUTcast streaming.
Alongside that ESI support has been fully polished up and now enabled by
default.
A few configuration annoyances have been wiped away with default IPv6
settings now embeded in squid.conf and several incorrectly working
options now fixed.
Each release is undergoing ever greater levels of quality assurance
testing. This release contains fixes for a very large number of build
issues in a mix of environments, particularly OpenSolaris and SunStudio.
Squid-3.1+ will now build easily with both GCC and SunStudio on
OpenSolaris, and is ready for wider usage.
One mishap has already appeared between actual code release and the time
of writing this. The ICY support introduced a small build regression in
eCAP support. Users who require eCAP will have to use snapshots or
patches after they are made public.
