Hi After configuring the squid , from client to squid the traffic will go in plain text. by using a command ssh -L 8080:squidhost:8080 username@squidhost we can establish a secure session from client to squid and handle all the request and response securely. Some more insight:- http://codeidol.com/security/network-security-hack/Secure-Tunnels/Use-a-Squid-Proxy-over-SSH/ Is there any option in squid for secure tunnel? (some thing like client less ssl vpn) -Sampath Chris Robertson-2 wrote: > > csampath wrote: >> Hello, >> >> Could any one successful in configuring the squid as both inbound and out >> bound proxy? >> > > Are you looking to use one Squid instance as both an accelerator AND a > caching web proxy? > >> >> client)-----------------------------------> >> squid------------------------>origin server >> All web traffic should go as https http >> or >> https | >> >> | >> >> <------------------------------------squid-------------------------------------| >> response always in https >> http or https >> >> > > Something bad happened to your diagram. > >> Could any one point me to the right configuration ? >> > > Start with... > > http://wiki.squid-cache.org/ConfigExamples/Reverse/BasicAccelerator > > ...and add another http_port line, and some http_access rules that allow > your clients to surf places other than the accelerated site. > >> Thanks in advance.. >> >> -Sampath >> > > Chris > > > -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/SUID-as--inbound-https-proxy-and-out-bound-http-proxy-tp24057044p24111584.html Sent from the Squid - Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
