Hello.
I am experiencing some weird problems with squid. I was testing to see if
squid would come up at boot time, sometimes it starts sometimes doesnt (This
is problem number one of two). I have the following line in rc.local
/usr/local/squid/sbin/squid -D
I am using the lastes stable version 3.0 downloaded last week.
Squid Cache: Version 3.0.STABLE11
configure options: '--prefix=/usr/local/squid' '--sysconfdir=/etc/squid'
'--enable-delay-pools' '--enable-kill-parent-hack' '--disable-htcp'
'--enable-default-err-language=Spanish' '--enable-linux-netfilter'
'--disable-ident-lookups' '--localstatedir=/var/log/squid'
'--enable-stacktraces' '--with-default-user=proxy' '--with-large-files'
What is the correct flag to run squid on?
No flags should be fine.
If it's not running you can try checking cache.log to see if there's
anything out of the ordinary there.
-D is still needed in 3.0 and earlier to prevent bad runs on network
access by DNS.
That should be fine by itself though for normal use.
