Hello all,

Playing w/ zfs on an i386 and amd64 machines.

Wondering if anyone has any recommendations they would make for FreeBSD 7 and squid 2.4 (or would 3 be better?)

Looking for aufs vs diskd vs coss. diskd seems faster on a GENERIC kernel, but after the recommended kernel entries are made and recompiled, it feels slower. aufs does not seem any different. coss seems to still be touchy from time to time.

loading the aio mod doesn't seem to make any noticeable change, am I missing something?

I am mounting the file systems for squid with noatime, anything else?

using powerdns-recursor as the recursive dns server, and squid from FreeBSD ports.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I hope that was a typo. You should really be on at lest Squid-2.6.
Any Squid-3 is better than Squid-2.4 definitely.
