In in my existing squid proxy server, when i add the lines: acl stud_hostel time M T W H F A 18:00-6:00 # this line 671 in my squid conf acl stud_hostel time S 00:00-24:00 # this is line 672 in my squid.conf The first acl is meant for allowing the stud_hostel to surf the net only at the evening hours from 6 pm to morning hours time till 6 am as per Indian Standard Time the second acl is meant for allowing 24 hours net accessibility on Sundays. When i restart my squid service after including the two above lines, the squid server never starts but all the time it fails. And its shows up the following error messages:- 1) Squid[2993]: Bungled squid.conf line 671: acl stud_hostel time M T W H F A 18:00-6:00 2) Squid[3052]: Bungled squid.conf line 672: acl stud_hostel time S 00:00-24:00 What is wrong with my acl, give me some POINTERS to the right direction. Thanks, jmaan I have also tried using the time in splitted in two parts, thus using two acls for beark up fo the time as you had said. On stopping, editing, saving and restarting the squid, it shows the same errors showing up those edited lines as shown above. Any clues anyone why such errors ? >
