Hello,

I have been running squid for long time, same config, squid-3.0-stable-7,
transparent mode. Jjust yesterday in the morning all the file descriptors
were used up, the graph showed slow decline in usage till none were left,
later on i restarted squid and it went ok for a while and then again the
file descriptors went low till none were left, and then i bypassed squid,
upgraded to the latest version, deleted cache files, restarted with the
latest squid3-stable8, after some time squid died with segmentation fault.
Does this fault look familiar to anything happening with the squid box ?

yes, pretty similar. I have filled a bug request some days ago reporting exactly the same problem with file descriptors you described.

There's no solution yet, the bug is still opened.
