JEDI unsupported http request error

In my cache.log I get flooded with the following error:
parseHttpRequest: Unsupported method 'JEDI'
From what I've been able to find, JEDI must refer to "Joint Endeavour 
of Delphi Innovators".  Has anyone encountered this, suggest a 
workaround, etc.?
Running  SQUID 2.7.STABLE1-20080528 on Debian 2.6.19.7
