* Which version of Squid-2.6 ?
* Graph statistics via SNMP, look for any trends (increased RAM/filedescriptor
  counts, growing CPU usage, etc.)
* Run it inside GDB (with the appropriate .gdbinit script) and then
  when it hangs, ctrl-c into the debugger and see whats going on
